Large Size Roy Lichtenstein Stepping Out

Created for an exhibition held at Leo Castelli on West Broadway New York in 1977. The billboard size poster is a lithograph that measures 51 x 35 inches. Billboard sizes are becoming more and more difficult to find because posters that size are now too costly to print for an exhibition. A very great value and image for all Lichtenstein collectors. To the best of my knowledge, the edition size would be about 1500.

The item being offered for auction is a hand-drawn twenty four color lithograph recreated by chromist Marc Kniebihler from a painting by Marc Chagall titled Eifel Tower, Serenade.
The signature on the bottom right hand side is a printed facsimile signature. The total size of the edition is 2000. Published in 1985 by Leon Amiel Publishers, Inc. The lithograph measures 35 x 24 1/2 inches and it is numbered in pencil.

Lithograph after (dapres) Magritte, facsimile signed with Magritte Estate watermark, authorized by ADAGP, France.
Printed on pure chiffon, Velin de Rives, 300 gr/square meter.
This image was recreated by a master engraver and required over eighteen passes through a flat-bed lithographic press to be completed.
Each print is signed in the plate, stamped with the seal of the Magritte Estate and signed by the publisher on the verso. This is part of an edition of 300 and measures 31 x 23 inches.
